Over the last few years Word Clouds have appeared on various websites as part of their search engines. Put simply, they use word size to depict the frequency of usage on the site.

But back in 2008 we wondered what would happen if you put an entire book into a word cloud generator.

We soon found out. They looked amazing.

The next thing we knew the posters had turned into something of an art project for us.

We moved on to lyrics, typing out the entire words of bands like The Smiths, The Sex Pistols and The Beatles.

We got a printing company to run the Word Clouds out, at sizes up to seven feet tall so you could read the tiniest words.

We had people at the agency asking for copies of the prints.

We were in danger of spending more time on them than doing our day-to-day advertising work.

Which is partly because each of these Word Clouds takes about a day to create. And another day to tinker with. And another day to perfect.

We hope to have an exhibition and a book coming soon.

In the meantime you can buy some of them from thewallspaceplace.com
